Convolvulus oleifolius

Sea-lover Convolvulus oleifolius.

Convolvulus oleifolius is a perennial flowering shrub or small bush of Greece, Malta, Cyprus, Palestine, Egypt and Libya. The name "oleifolius" refers to the small narrow grey-green leaves, that somewhat resemble the color of the olive-tree leaves. In spring, the plants with their new fresh foliage are covered with an abundance of small pale pink flowers that have a deeper magenta color when in bud and on their undersides. In Greece this marvelous species occurs in the south and on many islands, always holding a very strong relationship to the sea.
