Lamium amplexicaule

Lamium amplexicaule ruby flowers.

Lamium amplexicaule is a widespread annual plant of Europe and the Mediterranean region. The few small, velvety, ruby-red buds and violet flowers.of this very distinct species, decorate the green landscape very early in spring. Occasionally the flowers may be very inconspicuous. Lamium amplexicaule is essentially a sprawling plant, with dark brownish-red stems, and its opposite, deeply veined bracts looking like round layers topping each other.
